Kirby Jones

Psychologist & Director

Kirby is a Registered Psychologist with a Masters in Clinical Psychology who has a particular interest in assessment (cognitive, educational and behavioural) and support for children and adolescents, including gifted students and students with learning differences. Kirby is also a board approved supervisor for provisional psychologists. Kirby provides assessments for children and adults (e.g. Dyslexia & ADHD) and is passionate about working collaboratively with families and schools to provide neurodiversity-affirming support for children and adolescents. Kirby provides therapy to children and families, including parenting skills, and is trained in the Circle of Security and Cool Kids Anxiety programs. Kirby currently works as a School Psychologist with primary school students and is registered to provide services under Medicare.

Deb Zwolsman

Psychologist & Director

Deb is a Registered Psychologist who has practised all over Australia in regional, rural and remote communities. Deb works with adults and teenagers with a range of mental health concerns, such as anxiety, depression, and substance use disorders, in addition to relationship, sexuality, and other life time transitional issues. Deb uses a range of different therapeutic treatments, such as Cognitive-Behavioural therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing to support clients to build skills in managing and dealing with their issues and symptoms to live a full life.

Caroline Deeks

Psychologist

Caroline has a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology and has more than 30 years' experience working in a range of environments. Caroline has a particular interest in relationship and couples counselling and has worked in the area of family violence. She also has extensive experience in assisting individuals address workplace problems due to recent employment in EPA environment where she worked with staff and mangers through counselling and management consultancy. Caroline also has past experience working with young people in school and university settings. Caroline can assist adolescents and adults in building resilience and managing stress, depression and anxiety. She uses a range of evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational interviewing, Positive Psychology.

Cindy Goh

Provisional Psychologist

Cindy completed her Bachelor Degree with Honours in Psychology at UTAS and is currently practicing as a Provisional Psychologist. Cindy works with individuals seeking mental health support with concerns around depression, anxiety, as well as individuals with Autism. Cindy uses Psychoeducation and a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as the basis of her practice. Cindy will also receive training in the administration and interpretation of a wide range of assessments including cognitive and academic assessments in order to support clients with educational planning, learning adjustments, as well as accessing other allied health services and government funding. Cindy has a particular interest in supporting children, primarily in the aspects of development and education. Cindy enjoys going on road trips and exploring cafes on her days off.

Karolina Shaw

Social Worker & Counsellor

Karolina is a Social Worker with a Master’s in Counselling and Advanced Clinical Training in Dance Movement Therapy. She has over 20 years’ experience working with all ages across various settings, including hospital and in patient programs. Karolina has a passion for empowering her clients to cope with life's challenges and stressors through making positive changes and promoting physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Karolina helps clients explore their stories and find ways of managing their mental health. She believes in a person-centered approach and the importance of the therapeutic relationship, using a range of treatment styles based on the client’s needs. Karolina uses a trauma informed approach and styles she has experience in include, Strength-Based, Solution-Focused, Narrative Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical behaviour Therapy (DBT), Psychoeducation, Attachment Theory, Motivational Interviewing, and Positive Psychology. Karolina helps with anxiety and depression, addiction, PTSD, eating disorders, mental health related to pregnancy and parenthood, women’s health, relationship and family issues, self-esteem, disability support, ADHD, and autism. Karolina can also integrate the Expressive Arts Therapies in her approach, should the client wish to explore an expressive process to improve and enhance psychological and social well-being. 

Georgia Hamilton

Provisional Psychologist

Georgia is a Provisional Psychologist who completed her Bachelor of Psychological Science at Adelaide University, and her Psychology Honours and Master of Professional Psychology Degrees at the University of Tasmania. Georgia currently works with individuals of all ages seeking support for depression, anxiety, and emotional regulation. Georgia also assists with cognitive and academic assessments. Georgia aims to provide a neurodiversity and LGBTQIA+ affirming approach, and understands the importance of creating a space where everyone can feel safe and supported. Georgia uses a range of person-centred, evidence-based therapeutic approaches. Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) form the foundation of her approach, in addition to elements of mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and positive psychology. Outside of work, Georgia enjoys bush walking, adventuring, yoga, and being creative.

Clare Penny

Provisional Psychologist

Clare is a Provisional Psychologist who completed her Graduate Diploma of Psychological Practice at Deakin University, and her Psychology Honours and Master of Professional Psychology Degrees at the University of Tasmania. Clare also has 10 years’ experience working as an occupational therapist within public and private hospital systems. Clare works with individuals of all ages seeking support for depression, anxiety, and emotional regulation, as well as individuals with Autism. Clare also assists with cognitive and academic assessments. Clare aims to provide a safe and client centred therapeutic space for all individuals to feel supported. Clare uses evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and motivational interviewing. Outside of work, Clare enjoys bush walking, reading, socialising with friends and spending time with her beloved dog Frankie.

Dr Aneliese Poorter

Clinical Psychologist

Aneliese is currently on extended leave.
Aneliese has a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology and is experienced in working with people with a range of mental health concerns, in individual and group settings. Aneliese has a particular interest in anxiety disorders, emotion dysregulation, and addictions. She enjoys working with people to make lifestyle changes such as improving sleep, developing healthy relationships with food, and communicating effectively. She is skilled in delivering various evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness. Aneliese feels it is a privilege to work with her clients during challenging times. She describes her approach as calm and warm, focusing on practical strategies that help her clients live the life they want.

Andrea Breen

Therapist

Andrea Breen PhD is a registered therapist and supervisor with PACFA (Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia). She specialises in grief and loss counselling, trauma recovery, play therapy, creative arts therapy with children, couples counselling and family therapy. Andrea has had broad experience as a teacher in primary, secondary and tertiary education (including counselling practice) and in music and special education. Her experience as a counsellor and creative arts therapist over 20 years includes a range of services: aged care and dementia care (music and arts therapy), mental health, children's therapy, family therapy, relationship counselling, grief and loss therapy, trauma recovery with former refugees and family violence counselling. She leans towards eclectic approaches in therapy and enabling expression through the arts.
